Leon Goren, C.A., President
Leon brings to the organization pure genius for understanding the needs and challenges of excellent leadership. He has an extraordinary ability to listen to and in time hook up executives and business owners with a roadmap for action that is unparalleled. Leon first joined PEO as a participant in 2001 when he was President and CEO of Justwhiteshirts.com. During this tenure, his leadership elevated the company from a start-up to being recognized as one of Canada’s multi-channel success stories with brand recognition of 85% among their target market. In 2004 he sold Justwhiteshirts.com, and became a significant shareholder and the President of PEO.
Today with Leon’s guidance PEO has brought together an exceptional group of executive advisors who have all had successful careers as leaders in various industries. To date, with Leon at the helm, PEO has tripled in size and now extends its reach beyond the GTA and into Quebec. Leon has set clear objectives for PEO, to be the place to go to for business leaders and future leaders of the 21st century who have the desire to continue to grow as leaders. Leon comes well prepared for his role. As a staff accountant with Coopers & Lybrand he gained firsthand experience in advising small businesses, as a manager at Deloitte and Touche Leon honed his skills in managing teams, client relationships and working with large financial institutions. The time spent working at an up and coming pharmaceutical company gave him firsthand experience in taking a company public as well as gaining knowledge about consumer products.
Today Leon is a sought after speaker for business audiences as the recognized authority on leadership. As a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario Leon was asked to address the graduating class of Chartered Accountants of 2003 and 2006 at their respective Convocations. He continues to speak to both small and large audiences today on a wide range of leadership issues and business topics.
Leon is married to his wife, Michele Calpin, and has three young children. He continues to be active in a number of sports including swimming, triathlons, skiing and running. He is a member of the board of directors for the North York Aquatic Club, CEO Capital, Breakthrough Growth and alumnus of PEO.
